A water heater that uses a tank fills it's tank with tap water and then heats the water inside of the tank. The heating process is done either electronically or by burners, which are ran off natural gas. The system constantly keeps the water heated, so when a hot water tap is turned on, the water is pre-heated and ready to flow to the tap. The tank is then refilled with tap water to begin the process over again.

A residential plumbing system is made up of two separate systems. One plumbing system carries freshwater into the property, and the other plumbing system takes wastewater away from the property. Water entering the property is under pressure. It enters the property with enough pressure to travel throughout the entire building, even in an upward direction.
